"Eagles" of Eagle River

Is there any more suitable place to pay homage to one of our nation’s most beloved symbols than in Eagle River?  At noon on Saturday, May 29th the Eagle River Business Association (ERBA) will kickoff the “Eagles” of Eagle River Event at the E.R. Historical Society Depot.  This new 2010 event will be an ongoing tribute throughout the summer season featuring 5 foot eagle statues hand painted by a variety of local artists.

Each “Eagle” was individually commissioned by local businesses that will be displaying the works of art at their locations throughout the Eagle River area.

Finding and viewing this city wide art gallery also gives locals and visitors the chance to win various prizes!  Each “Eagle” has a secret letter.  Each letter is a part of a phrase.  Collect all the letters and rearrange them to reveal the secret message and you’ll be entered in a Grand Prize Drawing.

Pick up a brochure at a participating business downtown and find your favorite “Eagle”.  Then, join us for the annual Festival of Flavors on August 28th where you’ll get a chance to own one of these one-of-a-kind pieces of art.  A few of the “Eagles” will be auctioned off at the Festival.  Also, the winner will be announced on the “Eagle” that is being raffled (tickets available at participating stores downtown all summer).

ERBA will donate some of the proceeds to the Eagle River Historical Society’s new building campaign.
